Animal Associations in Spain
ANAA (Asociación Nacional Amigos de los
Animales) is a national animal
organisation founded in Madrid. It campaigns to protect animals, encourage
responsible ownership, prevent cruelty and animal shows. In addition ANAA
attempts to re-home abandoned and unwanted pets in Spain

Animal Protection Organisations, Charities & Shelters in Madrid
- Fundación El Arca de Noé: This foundation rehouses abandoned
animals, mainly cats and dogs. Its other priorities include raising
awareness of animal welfare and operating a cat and dog sterilisation
programme

- Sociedad Protectora de Animales y Plantas de Madrid (S.P.A.P): The
regional S.P.A.P for Madrid campaigns to educate people about animal
welfare, protect and rehouse abandoned animals. It operates a veterinary
clinic for animal sterilisation, an office for legal action against cruel
owners and the San Francisco de Asís animal shelter.
